Cookie policy
Last updated 16 July 2026
PressRush uses cookies and similar technologies on pressrush.life. This policy explains categories, purposes, storage durations, and how to manage consent under PIPEDA and BC PIPA.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. They help sites function, remember preferences, and — with consent — measure usage or deliver advertising.
How we obtain consent
On your first visit, a banner offers Accept all, Reject all, or Customise. Your choice is stored for six months in a first-party cookie (pressrush_consent). You may change preferences anytime by clearing cookies or using Customise when the banner reappears.
Cookie categories
| Category | Purpose | Duration | Required? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Security, load balancing, consent storage | Session – 6 months | Yes — always on |
| Analytics | Audience measurement, performance | Up to 26 months | Optional |
| Advertising | Labelled ad delivery and frequency caps | Up to 13 months | Optional |
| Preferences | Remember display choices | Up to 12 months | Optional |
Example vendors
Depending on consent and active campaigns, we may use privacy-reviewed analytics or advertising pixels (e.g. Google Analytics 4, Google Ad Manager). Vendor cookies are governed by their policies as well as ours.
How to opt out
- Use Reject all or disable categories in Customise on our banner;
- Clear site data in your browser settings;
- Use industry opt-out tools such as AdChoices Canada for interest-based ads.
Do Not Track
We treat explicit cookie consent choices as authoritative. Browser DNT signals are not uniformly supported; contact [email protected] with questions.
Browser controls
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent forms or consent storage from working correctly. Instructions vary by browser — search your browser name plus "manage cookies" for current steps.
Relationship to advertising
PressRush displays labelled advertising that does not influence editorial coverage. Advertising cookies, when enabled, help cap repeat impressions and measure campaign delivery. They do not give advertisers access to your contact form submissions.
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| pressrush_consent | Stores your cookie category choices | 6 months |
| session_id | Strictly necessary session continuity | Session |
Updates to this policy
When we add vendors or change retention periods, we update this page and the "Last updated" date above. Material changes may re-trigger the consent banner so you can review choices.
More information
See our privacy policy for how personal information and cookie data combine under PIPEDA and BC PIPA. Questions: [email protected].
Mobile applications
PressRush does not currently operate a native mobile app. If we launch one in future, a separate app privacy notice will describe any additional device identifiers collected with consent.
Consent refresh
When our cookie vendor list changes materially, we reset optional categories to off and display the banner again so you can make a fresh choice. Strictly necessary cookies remain active to keep the site functional.
Logging and fraud prevention
Strictly necessary cookies and server logs help detect automated abuse on contact forms. These signals are not used for behavioural advertising and are retained only as long as needed for security monitoring.
